Derelict Aquaculture Site Clean-up

For this year's CCCW intake, we have included Derelict Aquaculture as one of the eligible Programs.

Minimum Funding Amount: $250,000

Maximum Funding Amount: $500,000

Applicants who wish to apply for the Derelict Aquaculture Project must ensure that;

1. Associated costs are in line with the CCCW cost guidelines

2. Proposals will not be considered in areas where federal aquaculture or other provincial authorizations are still in place or being considered

Eligible expenses

Administrative costs

● Project administrative fees including project management up to 5% of total budget

Planning costs

● Research and assessments for identification of debris removal

● Licenses, permits, and approvals

● Insurance

● Costs incurred to be compliant with communicable disease plan and health/safety requirements

● Honorariums (eg. for Indigenous nations' consultations)

Removal / Clean-up costs

● Crew transportation costs from marshalling point

● Personal protective equipment for participants

● First time training costs associated with procedures related directly to the implementation of the project

● Equipment and supplies (e.g. consumables directly related to the project)

● In-kind activities directly related to the development and implementation of the project

● Per diems for participants directly related to the implementation of the project

● Honorariums

Managing collected debris

● Rental / lease / operator fees associated with specialized vessel, tug and helicopter operators for collection and extraction of debris

● Per diems for participants handling / identifying / sorting and recording debris

● Extraction / transportation costs of debris for end of life

● Recycling fees (preferred)

● Disposal fees

Ineligible expenses

● All project-related expenses incurred prior to the date of the funding approval letter

● Administration fees beyond 5% of total budget

● Costs associated with day to day operations of an applicant’s business or organization

● Costs that have been reimbursed or eligible for reimbursement under another provincial, federal or municipal cost sharing or grant program

● GST, PST, or other items for which a refund or rebate is received

● Duty or shipping costs

● Any costs not associated with the direct implementation of the approved project
